To ensure that awarding departments can effectively identify DVBE firms that provide needed products and services, General Services should explore other options for making the Cal eProcure search engine more effective for awarding departments.

1-Year Agency Response

As of January 2020, DGS PD has provided the shortened custom code set to the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal). On January 14, 2020, PD has informed departments of this change at the Purchasing Authority Roundtable (PART) meeting that they can expect to see the new custom set roll out once FI$Cal has completed their portion of the solution.

6-Month Agency Response

DGS is continuing its work with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) to implement a succinct custom United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) set and evaluate the effectiveness of the Cal eProcure search engine.

DGS implemented two dashboards that give departments the ability to view purchasing data within 24 hours of it being reported into SCPRS. The Statewide Small Business and DVBE Procurement Data Dashboards help the search engine by provided alternative ways for departments to get to information without having to use PeopleSoft functionality.
